Ciao carissimi amici e lettori,

Nel post di oggi condivido le cose belle relative al mese di ottobre dell'anno corrente. Il mese è iniziato molto bene perché nella prima settimana o incontrato una carissima amica che non vedevo da tempo. Ogni tanto ci facciamo una chiacchierata al telefono ma non è niente in confronta ad una ritrovata in persona. Purtroppo la situazione che ha sconvolto le nostre vite negli ultimi due anni, hanno anche limitato molto le nostre possibilità di vederci. Quindi potete immaginare quanto fossi impaziente di incontrare nuovamente la mia amica Francesca, con cui ho diverse cose in comune, tra le quali anche la passione per il blogging.  In tale occasione abbiamo scelto un ristorante molto carino e abbiamo pranzato insieme ai nostri cari mariti. Come potete vedere il posto scelto è molto pittoresco con proposte gastronomiche all'altezza e la ritrovata è stata arricchita da una conversazione proficua e appagante. In onestà, siamo stati fra i primi ad arrivare e gli ultimi ad andarsene e quando ci siamo salutati, abbiamo scambiato regali e si siamo proposti di non aspettare cosi a lungo per ritrovarci. Ci siamo regalate la stessa tipologia di regali, indovinate cosa? Libri! Ognuna ha regalato all'altra un libro, di cui aveva già letto un esemplare in precedenza e aveva apprezzato la trama, la narrazione e lo stile letterario. Sono due libri recenti, apprezzati molto dal pubblico lettore tanto da essere editate tante, tante volte. Condivido con voi il regalo che ho ricevuto io, per quanto riguarda il libro che ho regalato io, ve lo farò presente quando condividerò con voi la recensione.

In today's post I share the beautiful things related to the month of October of the current year. The month started very well because in the first week I met a very dear friend that I hadn't seen for a long time. Every now and then we have a chat on the phone but it is nothing compared to seeing ourselves in person. Unfortunately, the situation that has disrupted our lives over the past two years has also greatly limited our chances of seeing each other. So you can imagine how eager I was to meet my friend Francesca again, with whom I have several things in common, including the passion for blogging. On that occasion we chose a very nice restaurant and had lunch with our dear husbands. As you can see the chosen place is very picturesque with delicious gastronomic proposals and the discovery was enriched by a fruitful and satisfying conversation. Honestly, we were among the first to arrive and the last to leave and when we said goodbye, we exchanged gifts and made a promise not to wait that long in order to meet again. We gave ourselves the same kind of gifts, guess what? Books! Each gave the other a book, of which she had already read a copy previously and enjoyed the plot, the narrative and the literary style. Is the case of two recent books, much appreciated by the public reader so much that they have been edited many, many times over. I share with you the gift I received, as for the book I gave as gift, I will let you know when I'll share the review with you.

L'altro evento importante e bello dell'inizio di questo mese è stato l'anniversario del mio matrimonio. In tale occasione abbiamo deciso di passare la giornata fuori facendo le cose che ci piacciono molto e di cui abbiamo fatto a meno negli ultimi anni, iniziando ad usufruire solo dopo l'implementazione del green pass. Abbiamo pranzato e cenato fuori e abbiamo fatto una maratone cinema. A pranzo ci siamo recati in un fast food che apprezziamo molto per gustarci alcuni dei nostri piatti preferiti, poi abbiamo visionato al cinema il nuovo film 007 cioè BOND 25 - NO TIME TO DIE e in seguito la pellicola ESCAPE ROOM 2 - gioco mortale. Abbiamo scelto di concludere questo pomeriggio pieno di emozioni con una cena molto intima, in un ristorante etnico dove il piatto viene condiviso e consumato con le mani. Sono diversi anni che non frequentavamo più questo ristorante e siamo stati molto contenti di scoprire che i sapori e gli aromi erano gli stessi e che l'atmosfera era ancora più romantica e personale. Ovviamente in questa occasione io e mio marito ci siamo regalati le cose che amiamo di più, e mi domando se indovinerete quale sia stato il mio regalo ;)

Un'altra cosa bella che vorrei menzionare è stato il cambiamento che abbiamo notato nell'atmosfera generale fra l'inizio del mese e la fine dello stesso mese. Se ai primi di ottobre il cinema era ancora quasi vuoto, quando siamo tornati alla fine del mese abbiamo trovato le sale quasi piene e per quanto riguarda i ristoranti, i bar e i pub, abbiamo notato che alcuni posti che non avevano ancora aperto le porte, adesso hanno ricominciato a ricevere clienti e deliziarli con le loro pietanze secondo i vecchi orari di apertura. Non so voi, ma io ho interpretato tutto questo come l'inizio di un ritorno alla normalità.

The other important and beautiful event of the beginning of this month was my wedding anniversary. On that occasion we decided to spend the day out doing the things we really like and have done without or less in recent years, returning to a kind of normality only after the implementation of the green pass. We had lunch and dinner out and did a cinema marathon. For lunch we went to a fast food restaurant that we really appreciate to enjoy some of our favorite dishes, then we watched the new movie 007 at the cinema, that is BOND 25 - NO TIME TO DIE and then the film ESCAPE ROOM 2 - tournament of champions. We have chosen to conclude this afternoon full of emotions with a very intimate dinner, in an ethnic restaurant where the dish is shared and eaten with hands. We have not frequented this restaurant for several years and we were very happy to find that the flavors and aromas were the same and that the atmosphere was even more romantic and personal. Obviously on this occasion my husband and I gave ourselves as gifts the things we love most, and I wonder if you will guess what my gift was;)

Another beautiful thing I would like to mention was the change we noticed in the general atmosphere between the beginning of the month and the end of the same month. If at the beginning of October the cinema was still almost empty, when we returned at the end of the month we found the halls almost full and as regards the restaurants, bars and pubs, we noticed that some places that had not yet opened their doors, now they have begun to receive customers and delight them with their dishes according to the old opening hours. I don't know about you, but I interpreted all of this as the beginning of a return to normal.

Orrori per Halloween / Halloween horrors

Di solito ogni anno postavo qualcosa per Halloween,  un po' perché è una festa molto popolare, un po' perché mi divertiva farlo ma ultimamente i miei post erano sempre più cupi. Beh, quest'anno probabilmente pubblicherò il più tremendo post perché parlerò delle cose mi mi fanno orrore e ribrezzo allo stesso tempo. 

Vi avverto, non è un post divertente perché i veri orrori non lo sono mai, quindi non mi stupirò ne mi dispiacerà se qualcuno sceglierà di non restare a leggere il post. Le cose brutte non piacciono e quindi comprenderò se sceglierete di fare altro. 

Da qualche anno, mi da molto fastidio quando le femmine che vanno nei bagni pubblici per donne fanno la pipi in piedi. Non ho un problema in particolare con la loro scelta di farlo in questo modo, ma con il fatto che non scelgono anche di alzare la tavoletta quando lo fanno. Sarà la mia frustrazione perché non ho le gambe che possano sopportare una pisciata in piedi ma sono sicura che nessuna di queste donne tanto atletiche, a casa non faccia queste cose. Anzi, ho il leggero sospetto che a casa abbiano anche bastonato qualche maschietto che facendo la pipì in piedi, perché comunque i maschi sono attrezzati per poterlo fare, abbiano perso qualche goccia anche su una tavoletta non alzata. Sono perplessa e frustrata perché la maggior parte dei bagni pubblici hanno disinfettante con cui ci si possa disinfettare la tavoletta prima di adagiarsi comodamente a fare i bisogni, o in mancanza di esso, si può sempre usare la carta igienica per coprire la tavoletta allo stesso scopo, per la propria igiene personale ma anche per considerazione verso le persone che non sono tanto in forma da poter pisciare in piedi come cavalli. In questo senso mi viene i  mente sempre Stefania Colomba, la collaboratrice degli hmatt che nonostante usasse in altri contesti la parola CAVALLA, purtroppo ha trovato la definizione esatta per le donne tanto atletiche da pisciare in piedi come uomini, ma non altrettanto educate da alzare la tavoletta. Una tavoletta piena di piscio è il mio peggior incubo, peggio di qualsiasi film del orrore, peggio di qualsiasi travestimento e peggio di qualsiasi storia dell'orrore. Vorrei chiedere a tutte queste gentili cavalle se loro avrebbero voglia di pulire una tavoletta sporca di piscio, fra disgusto e conati di volito, per poter urinare o se preferirebbero farsela adosso nella ricerca di un water pulito?

La morale del mio post è che non serve per forza andare al cinema o riempirsi la casa di decorazioni spaventose ma bastano alcuni momenti di quotidiana mancanza di rispetto per orripilare le persone. Non so voi, ma per quanto commerciale e finta io preferisco la festa di Halloween alla gente maleducata e menefreghista. E voi? C'è qualcosa che vi spaventa o vi provoca ribrezzo? Se vi va di parlare, non abbiate paura di condividere le vostre paure ma soprattutto,  ringrazio di cuore coloro che sono riusciti a leggere questo post fino alla fine 😉

I used to post something every year for Halloween, partly because it's a very popular party, partly because I enjoyed doing it but lately my posts were getting darker and darker.  Well, this year I will probably publish the most terrible post because I will talk about the things that make me horrified and disgusted at the same time.

I warn you, it is not a funny post because the real horrors never are, so I will not be surprised or sorry if someone chooses not to stay and read the post.  Bad things are not pleasant and therefore I will understand if you choose to do something else.

For a few years now, it has bothered me a lot when females who go to public restrooms for women pee standing up.  I don't have a particular problem with their choice to do it this way, but with the fact that they don't also choose to raise the seat when they do it.  It may be my frustration because I don't have legs that can allow to pee standing up but I'm sure none of these athletic women do those things at home. Infact, I have the slight suspicion that at home they have also argued with a man ir a boy who peeing standing up, because in any case the males are equipped to do so, they also lost a few drops on a toilet seat not raised. I am perplexed and frustrated because most public restrooms have disinfectant with which one can disinfect the toilet seat before lying down comfortably to use the toilet, or in the absence of it, one can always use toilet paper to cover the seat for the same purpose, for one's personal hygiene but also out of consideration for people who are not fit enough to piss standing up like horses.  In this sense, Stefania Colomba  the Hmatt collaborator, comes to my mind, who despite using the word HORSE in other contexts, unfortunately has found the exact definition for women who are so athletic as to piss standing up like men, but not as polite as to raise the toilet seat. A tablet full of piss is my worst nightmare, worst of any horror movie, worst of any disguise and worst of any horror story.  I would like to ask all these nice female horses if they would want to clean a piss-stained toilet seat, between disgust and retching in order to urinate or if they would prefer to pee on themselves in search of a clean toilet?

The moral of my post is that you don't necessarily need to go to the cinema or fill your house with scary decorations but a few moments of daily disrespect are enough to horrify people.  I don't know about you, but as commercial and fake as it is, I prefer the Halloween party to rude and indifferent people.  And you?  Is there something that scares you or causes you disgust?  If you want to talk, don't be afraid to share your fears but above all, I sincerely thank those who managed to read this post to the end 😉

Oggi ho finalmente deciso di recensire un prodotto che uso regolarmente ed quasi ininterrottamente da parecchi anni, un prodotto essenziale per la mia beauty routine. Ho diversi prodotti che uso regolarmente da diversi anni e ho deciso di chiamare d’ora in poi questi prodotti, gli INDISPENSABILI. Stranamente la maggior parte di questi prodotti non è stata ancora recensita perché sono talmente abituata ad usarli che mi dimentico di fare le foto o di recensirli e quando finalmente mi ricordo di farlo, rimando sempre per un altro momento visto che so che li ricomprerò comunque. Il prodotto INDISPENSABILE che recensirò oggi è l’EYE LINER professionale con pennellino e Vitamina E del marchio italiano BOTTEGA VERDE. Uso questo prodotto da più di 10 anni e nella maggior parte delle foto in cui vi ho presentato dei make-up, ho usato proprio questo eyeliner. Occasionalmente mi sono fatta convincere da promozioni o pubblicità e ho provato anche altri prodotti, dello stesso marchio o da brand diversi, anche famosi, ma alla fine sono sempre tornata da questo prodotto. Non penso di aver mai acquistato nessun altro eyeliner più di una volta mentre questo prodotto lo acquisto anche 4 o 5 volte all’anno, complice il fatto che nella mia routine quotidiana non manca l’eyeliner e il mascara. Dopo aver fatto tutte queste precisazioni estremamente importanti per me e per la qualità della recensione, provvederò con la stesura abituale.

Informazioni dal produttore: Classico eye liner con una formula innovativa che combina l’alta qualità del prodotto alla performance di un pennellino che permette di tracciare un tratto nitido anche a mani inesperte. La consistenza fluida facilita la stesura del prodotto che si asciuga velocemente senza sbavature. Resiste all’acqua e dura tutto il giorno senza perdere intensità o precisione.

Packaging: elegante confezione di colore nera, ergonomica e facile da trasportare in qualsiasi situazione e momento.

Consistenza: cremosa e fluida facilmente utilizzabile grazie al pennellino in dotazione.

Modalità di utilizzo: appoggiare il pennellino al centro della rima palpebrale superiore e trascinandolo verso l’esterno. Procedere in seguito dall’angolo interno dell’occhio collegandosi al punto iniziale.

Valutazione personale: Come avevo già specificato, questo eyeliner è il mio prodotto make-up preferito in assoluto, immancabile nella mia beauty case da più di 10 anni. Il pennellino mi ha sempre permesso di applicare il prodotto con facilità nonostante i problemi di tremore alle mani dovute alla sclerosi multipla di cui sono affetta da più di 20 anni. Nel caso in cui il tratto risulti impreciso alla prima stesura, è sempre possibile aggiustarlo con piccoli movimenti. Il pennellino permette di gestire facilmente la densità del tratto. Il prodotto è resistente all’acqua e al sudore ma non consiglio di piangere o sfregarsi gli occhi dopo che lo avete applicato. La validità del prodotto è di sei mesi se accuratamente conservato ma confesso che non mi è mai durato cosi a lungo perché nel mio caso, finisce molto prima. Ci sono stati casi in cui ho dimenticato qualche prodotto in qualche borsa da viaggio e dopo averlo ritrovato, l’ho usato con buoni risultati.

PRO: buon rapporto qualità/prezzo a costo normale, ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo con sconti, facilità di applicazione, ottima stesura, resistenza e durata, travel friendly

CONTRO: disponibile solo in tonalità nero

Valutazione finale: Consiglio questo prodotto a tutti gli amanti del make-up che cercano un buon eyeliner, facile da applicare, con costi contenuti, che non sbava e non perde intensità.

Occasionally I got convinced by promotions or advertisements and I also tried other products, from the same brand or from different brands, even famous ones, but in the end I always came back to this product. I don't think I have ever bought any other eyeliner more than once, while I usually buy this product 4 or 5 times a year, thanks to the fact that in my daily routine consists invariably of eyeliner and mascara. After having made all these extremely important clarifications for me and for the quality of the review, I will proceed with the usual drafting.

The fluid consistency facilitates the application of the product which dries quickly without smudging. It resists water and lasts all day without losing intensity or precision.

Personal evaluation: As I had already specified, this eyeliner is my absolute favorite make-up product, a must-have in my beauty case for more than 10 years. The applicator has always allowed me to apply the product easily despite the tremor problems of my hands due to multiple sclerosis that I have been suffering from for more than 20 years. In the event that the line is inaccurate at the first draft, it is always possible to adjust it with small movements. The applicator allows to easily manage the density of the line. The product is resistant to water and sweat but I do not recommend crying or rubbing your eyes after you have applied it. The validity of the product is six months if carefully stored but I confess that it has never lasted so long because in my case, it ends much earlier. There have been cases in which I have forgotten some product in some travel bag and after having found it, I used it with good results.

PROS: good quality / price ratio at normal cost, excellent quality / price ratio with discounts, ease of application, excellent laying, resistance and durability, travel friendly

CONS: only available in black

Final evaluation: I recommend this product to all make-up lovers who are looking for a good eyeliner, easy to apply, with low costs, which does not smudge and does not lose intensity.

Ciao carissimi lettori,

Oggi recensisco il libro Scritto nelle Ossa dello scrittore e giornalista britannico Simon Becket, famoso nel mondo dei romanzi thriler. Questo libro fa parte della serie di romanzi che ha come personaggio principale l’investigatore forense David Hunter. La trama di questo romanzo è ambientata nell’isola scozzese North Rona (chiamata Runa nel libro) e riguarda una serie di delitti misteriosi che iniziano con la scoperta di resti parzialmente carbonizzati che fanno sospettare una combustione spontanea. L’investigatore David Hunter viene inviato lì assieme al sergente Fraser e all’ufficiale Duncan McKinney per investigare la natura di quel incidente ma si vedono intrappolati sull’isola e costretti a lavorare senza le facilità e l’aiuto della tecnologia moderna. Oltre a loro il romanzo è popolato da personaggi interessanti e complessi come l’ispettore in pensione Andrew Brody,la giornalista Maggie Cassidy, il magnate sudafricano nonché benefattore dell’isola Michael Strachan, sua moglie Grace Strachan, l’alberghiera Ellen McLeod, gente pittoresca del luogo come Iain Kinross e Guthrie. I personaggi sono creati con tanta attenzione, delineati con molta cura e facilmente riconoscibili. A differenza di altri romanzi thriller, non mi è stato difficile ricordare i personaggi perché ognuno aveva la sua personalità ben strutturata ed era descritto accuratamente. L’azione è sostenuta e intrigante, piena di colpi di scena. La narrazione è abbastanza fluida e in certi momenti mi è stato persino difficile interrompere la lettura per adempiere agli obblighi di vita quotidiana. Certi svolgimenti erano facilmente intuibili ma confesso che il finale è stato una bella sorpresa. Nonostante non sia un genere di libro che amo particolarmente leggere e nonostante non mia abbia aiutato a imparare qualcosa o scoprire concetti nuovi, confesso che mi è piaciuto leggere questo romanzo, mi ha intrigato e a volte mi ha anche tenuta con il fiato sospeso. Da adolescente leggevo molto anche questo genere e nonostante non fosse il miglior giallo/thriller che io abbia letto, lo consiglio a chi cerca un libro interessante e non troppo impegnativo. Probabilmente con il tempo acquisterò anche gli altri romanzi della serie che vede come protagonista David Hunter perché sarebbero un ottimo passatempo per le giornate di vacanza e svago.

Today I review the book Written in Bone by the British writer and journalist Simon Becket, famous in the world of thriler novels. This book is part of the series of novels which has as its main character the forensic investigator David Hunter. The plot of this novel is set on the Scottish island of North Rona (called Runa in the book) and concerns a series of mysterious crimes that begin with the discovery of partially charred remains that suggest spontaneous combustion. Investigator David Hunter is sent there along with Sergeant Fraser and Officer Duncan McKinney to investigate the nature of that incident but they find themselves trapped on the island and forced to work without the facilities and help of modern technology. In addition to them, the novel is populated by interesting and complex characters such as retired inspector Andrew Brody, journalist Maggie Cassidy, South African tycoon and island benefactor Michael Strachan, his wife Grace Strachan, hotelier Ellen McLeod, colorful local people like Iain Kinross and Guthrie. The characters are created with a lot of attention, outlined with great care and easily recognizable. Unlike other thriller novels, it wasn't difficult for me to remember the characters because each had their own well-structured personality and were accurately described. The action is sustained and intriguing, full of twists and turns. The narration is quite fluid and at certain times it was even difficult for me to stop reading to fulfill the obligations of daily life. Certain developments were easily intuitable but I confess that the ending was a pleasant surprise. Although it is not a kind of book that I particularly love to read and although it has not helped me to learn something or discover new concepts, I confess that I enjoyed reading this novel, it intrigued me and at times it even held me in suspense. As a teenager I also read this genre a lot and although it was not the best thriller I have read, I recommend it to anyone looking for an interesting and not too demanding book. Probably over time I will also buy the other novels in the series starring David Hunter because they would be an excellent pastime for the days of vacation and leisure.
