Weekend al cinema / Weekend at the cinema

IT: Una volta finito il periodo di "clausura" per malattia, anche se non stessi per niente bene, ho deciso che prima di buttarmi nelle fiame del lavoro e della vita quotidiana🔥 per ritrovare il gusto di vivere, avrei dovuto godermi qualche uscita al cinema. Ecco come in due giorni sono riuscita a vedere ben tre film, certo il fatto che il costo di alcuni biglietti sia 3,50 e che al pomeriggio presto i posti di parcheggio disabili sono ancora liberi (non che solitamente fossero occupati da portatori di handicap) ha aiutato molto. E visto che trovi finalmente posto di parcheggio, cosa fai, te ne vai? Nooo, resti a vedere un secondo film e la volta dopo ne scegli uno che duri tanto da far valere la soddisfazione di aver occupato quel posto con un tagliando regolare. 

ENG: Once the period of "seclusion" due to illness was over, even if I wasn't well at all, I decided that before throwing myself into the flames of work and everyday landatain order to rediscover the joy of living, I could enjoy a few trips to the cinema.  This is how in two days I managed to see three films, certainly the fact that the cost of some tickets is 3.50 and that in the early afternoon the disabled parking spaces are still vacant (not that they were usually occupied by disabled people), it helped a lot.  And since you finally find a parking space, what do you do, do you leave?  Nooo, you stay to see a second movie and the next time you choose one that lasts long enough to make the satisfaction of having occupied that place with a regular perment worth while.

IT: Dopo questa piccola parentesi introduttiva (sarcastica, ironica ed amareggiata), vi parlerò dei film visti. 

Come grande ammiratrice di Denzel Washington, sono andata a vedere Equalizer 3 e sono stata realmente contenta della mia scelta. L'azione si svolge in Italia, iniziando con la Sicilia e salendo piano, piano fino a Napoli e la costiera Amalfitana. Stavolta Robert McCall (l'ex agente C.I.A al quale il vecchio Denzel ha dato vita), combatte la mafia italiana, una trama abbastanza stereotipata ma che funziona benissimo. I dialoghi italiani erano eletrizzanti, gli attori pure, e non parlo solo di Dakota Fanning che confesso, cominciava a mancarmi, ma anche di giovane promesse italiane come Gaia Scodellaro e Andrea Dodero e l'ambientazione era il meglio del meglio, curata nei più minimi dettagli. Il film è riuscito a catturare per bene le abitudini del popolo italiano, la loro generosità, il desiderio di fidarsi del prossimo e l'intrasigenza davanti ai cambiamenti e l'Hollywood ha saputo sfruttare al massimo tutto questo per realizzare, a mio avviso, il miglior Equalizer finora. È anche il più sanguinoso di tutti ma come l'italiano che veste con stile qualsiasi indumento, anche questo film usa la violenza con il pennello di un grande maestro. 

Chi sa se ce sarà un'altro sequel visto che Denzel Washington aveva dichiarato che questo sarebbe stata l'ultima volta in cui avrebbe imperssonato il famoso giustiziere. Forse, visto che il regista, Antoine Fuqua vuole fare un'origin story, vedremo presto qualc'un altro nei panni di un giovane agente che impara a uccidere senza pietà  Voi avete visto Equalizer 3? Vi è piaciuto? Se lo dovessi valutare con un voto e considerando che Denzel è uno dei miei attori preferiti, per me questo film si merita un -8.

ENG: After this small introductory parenthesis (sarcastic, ironic and embittered), I will talk to you about the movies I've seen.

 As a huge fan of Denzel Washington, I went to see Equalizer 3 and was really happy with my choice.  The action takes place in Italy, starting with Sicily and moving slowly up to Naples and the Amalfi coast.  This time Robert McCall (the former CIA agent whom the old Denzel gave life to) fights the Italian mafia, a fairly stereotyped plot but that works very well.  The Italian dialogues were electrifying, the actors too, and I'm not just talking about Dakota Fanning, who I confess, I was starting to miss, but also about young Italian promises like Gaia Scodellaro and Andrea Dodero and the setting was the best of the best, with attention to the smallest details.

The movie managed to capture well the habits of the Italian people, their generosity, the desire to trust others and the intransigence in the face of changes and Hollywood was able to make the most of all this to achieve, in my opinion, the best Equalizer so far. It is also the bloodiest of all but like the Italian who dresses any garment with style, this film also uses violence with the brush of a great master.

Who knows if there will be another sequel given that Denzel Washington had declared that this would be the last time he would play the famous vigilante. Maybe, since the director, Antoine Fuqua wants to make an origin story, we will soon see someone else in the role of a young agent who learns to kill without mercy. If I had to rate it with a grade and considering that Denzel is one of my favorite actors, for me this film deserves a -8.

Have you seen Equalizer 3? Did you like it?

IT: Andiamo con ordine e visto che vi avevo già detto che avevamo visto due film nella stessa giornata, aggiungo che dopo Equalizer 3, avevamo deciso di andare a vedere The Nun 2. Un'altro sequel mi direte, beh, noi siamo cosi, abbiamo le nostre saghe e i nostri blockbuster che non possiamo non vedere al cinema. Quindi un sequel della famiglia Conjuring sulla più famosa suora demonio non poteva passare inosservato. Questo film riprende da dove è finito il primo e abbiamo ancora Taissa Farmiga e Jonas Bloquet come personaggi principali. Come vi ricorderete nel caso abbiate visto il primo film della saga, il demone Valak non è stato ucciso nel monastero Santa Carta perché una piccola parte di sé è sopravvissuta nascosta in Maurice, "il Francese" e stavolta a darle la caccia è sorella Irene, divenuta suora nel frattempo aiutata anche ella da una novizia, nei panni di suor Debra, una giovane fanciulla con un passato ingiusto e turbolento. Su internet avevo letto che questo film era più debole e meno bello rispetto al primo film della saga ma secondo il mio parere è tutto il contrario. Secondo me, in questo film hanno migliorato alcuni aspetti che nel primo lasciavano un po' da desiderare e gli attori sembravano più preparati e convincenti, qualcosa del tipo, "repetitia docet" o simile. Comunque, dopo altre leggende infrante e miti distorti, The Nun II arriva a consegnare la giusta quantità di brividi senza esagerare o annoiare. Se siete amanti dei film dell'orrore noterete sicuramente e apprezzerete la differenza perché altrimenti non mi sento di consigliare questo film. Meglio del primo e per me un ben meritato 6.

ENG: Let's go in order and since I had already told you that we had seen two films on the same day, I add that after Equalizer 3, we had decided to go and see The Nun 2. Another sequel you will tell me, well, we are like that, we have our sagas and our blockbusters that we cannot miss seeing at the cinema.  So a Conjuring family sequel about the most famous demon nun could not go unnoticed.  This movie picks up where the first one ended and we still have Taissa Farmiga and Jonas Bloquet as the main characters.  As you will remember if you have seen the first film of the saga, the demon Valak was not killed in the Santa Carta monastery because a small part of him survived hidden in Maurice, "the Frenchman" and this time it is sister Irene who is hunting it, having become a nun in the meantime, also helped by a novice, in the role of Sister Debra, a young girl with an injust and turbulent past. I had read on the internet that this movie was scarcer and less interesting than the first one in the saga but in my opinion it is quite the opposite.  In my opinion, in this film they improved some aspects that in the first one left a little to be desired and the actors seemed more prepared and convincing, probably due to, "repetitia docet" or something of sort.  However, after other broken legends and distorted myths, The Nun II manages to deliver just the right amount of thrills without overdoing or boring.  If you are a lover of horror movies you will definitely notice and appreciate the difference because otherwise I would not recommend this film to you.  Better than the first one and for me a well deserved 6.

IT: Dopo questo slalom fra film pensati per risvegliare i sensi e mettere in moto l'adrenalina, arriviamo al re dei film appena visti, un film che non risveglia solo emozioni e reazioni fisiche ma un film che ti coinvolge intellettualmente e moralmente, un film che non aspettava altro che essere guardato per diventare quello che realmente è, cioè una capodopera artistica. Il film in questione è Oppenheimer e ciò che fa di lui una vera opera d'arte non è solo il cast stellare che comprende nomi come Cilian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Josh Hartnett e tantissimi altri ma anche la storia che si sviluppa grazie a riprese concise, dialoghi furbi, colpi di scena e svolte inaspettate in un evento che segnò per sempre il destino di tutta l'umanità, la costruzione della prima bomba atomica. Ciliam Murphy recita la parte di J. Robert Oppenheimer, un fisico ebreo, padre della bomba atomica, mentre Robert Downey Jr recita la parte del suo antagonista, il politico senza scrupoli e senza rimorsi. Quello che all'inizio sembrava il nascere di una grande amicizia, evolve in modo subdolo come un tumore nella più grande controversia che il mondo scientifico abbia mai conosciuto e seguire gli eventi che portarono a tutto questo è una vera delizia. 

Se volete vedere i vostri attori preferiti recitare nei ruoli più diversi e inconsueti che abbiate mai immaginato, andate a vedere questo film, sicuramente non resterete delusi. Non sento di aver spoilerato niente in quanto la storia la sappiamo tutti ma nessuno avrebbe immaginato queste dinamiche e questi giochi d'intenti prima di vedere questo film. Non avete possibilità di andare al cinema? Allora noleggiatelo appena disponibile sullo streaming online e vi assicuro, non vi pentirete, in quanto non ci sono mai stati soldi spesi meglio per un film. Per me, qui parliamo di un 10 e lode. 

ENG: After this slalom between movies designed to awaken the senses and set the adrenaline in motion, we arrive at the king of the films we have just seen, a film that not only awakens emotions and physical reactions but a movie that involves you intellectually and morally, a production that didn't await for anything else than to be seen so to become what it really is, that is, an artistic masterpiece. The film in question is Oppenheimer and what makes it a true work of art is not only the stellar cast which includes names like Cilian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Josh Hartnett and many others but also the story developed thanks to concise shots, clever dialogues, twists and unexpected turns in an event that forever marked the fate of all humanity, the construction of the first atomic bomb. Ciliam Murphy plays the part of J. Robert Oppenheimer, a Jewish physicist, father of the atomic bomb, while Robert Downey Jr plays the part of his antagonist, the unscrupulous and remorseless politician.  What initially seemed like the birth of a great friendship evolves as subtly as a tumor into the greatest controversy the scientific world has ever known, and following the events that led to it, is a true delight.

 If you want to see your favorite actors play the most different and unusual roles you have ever imagined, go and see this film, you definitely won't be disappointed. I don't feel like I've spoiled anything as we all know the story but no one would have imagined these dynamics and these games of intent before seeing this film.  Don't have a chance to go to the cinema?  Then rent it as soon as it is available on online streaming and I assure you, you will not regret it, as there has never been money better spent on a film.  For me, here we are talking about a full marks 10.

Suicide Squad - Missione Suicida - o come rovinare una saga con un cast poco ispirato / Suicide Squad or how to ruin a saga with an uninspired cast

Carissimi amici e lettori,

Come avrete sicuramente capito dal titolo, ho visto al cinema il nuovo film Suicide Squad (missione suicida) e sono rimasta alquanto delusa. Ho apprezzato moltissimo il primo film di questa saga e ho anche pagato una bella somma per rivederlo qualche giorno prima di andare al cinema a vedere il sequel e anche se avessi dei grossi dubbi su certi personaggi del cast, pensavo che la presenza di Margot Robbie e Idris Elba fosse sufficiente a garantire una bella dinamica. Purtroppo mi ero sbagliata e ho capito che basta una sola frutta marcia per rovinare una cesta intera. Ho notato un fenomeno abbastanza comune alla Hollywood e cioè quello di promuovere aggressivamente certi attori inserendoli in tutti i film popolari del momento e finché si trattava di attori di talento come era successo con Sam Worthington, Shailene Woodley o Robert Pattison, questo fenomeno non mi ha disturbato minimamente ma quando invece prendono persone che provengono da un altro background, senza aver fatto un percorso di crescita o meglio detto senza aver fatto la gavetta, e gli inseriscono direttamente nelle saghe più popolari in ruoli chiave, rimango basita. La presenza che mi ha contrariato in questo caso è stata la scelta di John Cena per il ruolo di Peacemaker. L'ho trovato scialbo, inadatto, banale e a tratti anche esagerato. Nonostante fosse un film caricaturale, John Cena era completamente inadatto, non faceva ridere, era teso quando doveva divertire e impacciato o inerme quando il ruolo lo voleva dinamico. Le sue espressioni faciali erano quelle di un bambino obbligato dalla madre a partecipare per la prima volta in una recita scolastica. A differenza di altri attori che vengono dal mondo del wrestling come Dwayne Johnson o perfino Dave Bautista che sono partiti da ruoli minori, imparando il mestiere, acquisendo abilità e sviluppando il carisma necessario per recitare in certi personaggi che adesso vengono identificati solo con il loro viso, John Cena è stato troppo affrettato. 

Il pensiero che dovrò vederlo anche nell'ultimo film della serie Fast & Furious mi preoccupa parecchio e mi fa pesare molto la decisione di andare o meno a vedere il film. Ovviamente non farò alcun spoiler ma credo che la sua scelta per questa saga doveva essere ponderata meglio perché ha abbassato considerevolmente l'indice di gradimento e l'affluenza nelle sale di cinema.

As you may have guessed from the title, I saw the new movie Suicide Squad at the cinema and I was quite disappointed. I really enjoyed the first film of this saga and I also paid a nice sum to see it again a few days before going to the cinema for the sequel and even though I had big doubts about certain characters in the cast, I thought that the presence of Margot Robbie and Idris Elba was enough to guarantee a nice dynamic. Unfortunately I was wrong and I realized that just one rotten fruit is enough to ruin an entire basket. I noticed a fairly common phenomenon in Hollywood and that is to aggressively promote certain actors by inserting them in all the popular films at the time and as long as they were talented actors as had happened with Sam Worthington, Shailene Woodley or Robert Pattison, this phenomenon was not disturbing at all, but when instead they take people who come from another background, without having made a path of growth or better said without having done the apprenticeship and insert them directly in the most popular sagas in key roles, I am stunned. The presence that annoyed me in this case was the choice of John Cena for the role of Peacemaker. I found it dull, unsuitable, banal and at times even exaggerated. Despite being a cartoon movie, John Cena was completely unsuitable, he was not funny, he was tense when he had to entertain and awkward or helpless when the role wanted him dynamic. His facial expressions were those of a child forced by his mother to participate for the first time in a school play. Unlike other actors who come from the world of wrestling such as Dwayne Johnson or even Dave Bautista who started from minor roles, learning the trade, acquiring skills and developing the charisma necessary to act in certain characters who are now identified only with their face, John Cena was too hasty.

The thought that I will have to see it also in the last movie of the Fast & Furious series worries me a lot and makes me weigh a lot the decision to go or not to see it. Obviously I will not make any spoilers but I think that his choice for this saga had to be better considered because it has considerably lowered the approval rating and the turnout in cinemas.

Solo Cose Belle - giugno 2021 / Only beautiful things - June 2021

Ciao carissimi lettori, 

Stavolta sono in ritardo con il consueto post dedicato alle cose belle di questo mese, non perché non ce ne siano ma perché sono stata molto impegnata e non ho trovato il tempo. Alcune delle cose belle di cui vorrei parlarvi sono fra quelle che mi hanno rubato il tempo, anzi, è meglio dire cose a cui ho dato la precedenza.  

Come prima cosa, visto che i cinema sono aperti e ci si può anche consumare pop corn e bibite dentro, io e mio marito abbiamo deciso di impegnare ogni fine settimana che non era già riservato ad altro, ad andare al cinema. Ci è capitato anche di fare la maratona e vedere quindi più film in successione. Per noi andare al cinema è rilassante, ci permette di ricaricarci le batterie e scoprire mondi nuovi e idee nuove. Ecco a voi alcuni dei film che abbiamo visionato. Sono curiosa se gli avete visti o se intendete andare a vederli?

For this time I am late with the usual post dedicated to the beautiful things of this month, not because there are none but because I have been very busy and I have not found the time.  Some of the beautiful things I would like to tell you about are among those that have stolen my time, and indeed, it is better to say things that I have given priority to.

First of all, since the cinemas are open and you can also consume popcorn and drinks inside, my husband and I decided to commit every weekend that was not already reserved for anything else, to go to the cinema. We also did it in marathon style and therefore saw more films in succession.  For us, going to the cinema is relaxing, it allows us to recharge our batteries and discover new worlds and new ideas.  Here are some of the movies we have seen.  I'm curious if you have seen them or if you intend to go and see them?

Un'altra bella cosa che mi ha tenuta molto impegnata questo mese è la fioritura delle mie orchidee. Da quasi due mesi (in un periodo non abituale per la loro fioritura),  diverse orchidee hanno inziare a fiorire. L'orchidea poi ha bisogno di attenzione, bisogna capire cosa le manca, curarla, assicurare loro la giusta illuminazione e la giusta quantità d'acqua e quindi sono un po' impegnative, soprattutto se sono tante, come nel mio caso. Alcune avevano già aperto i boccioli anche a gennaio, febbraio o marzo, alcune lo hanno fatto dopo una pausa di qualche anno. Siccome i miei conoscenti e amici nella vita reale non conoscono la mia passione per le orchidee, ho deciso di condividere con loro foto e storie su queste meravigliose creature. Voi come lettori di questo blog siete ormai familiarizzati con questo mio hobby ma condivido lo stesso anche con voi le ultime fioriture. Queste che vedete qui, sono fiorite da un po', quindi a presto cominceranno a perdere fiori e petali e siccome ne ho altre che iniziano a rinascere e che hanno già fatto avanti i loro steli, a breve ne vedrete delle altre.

Another beautiful thing that has kept me very busy this month is the blooming of my orchids.  For almost two months (in an unusual period for their flowering), several orchids have started to bloom. Therefore the orchid needs attention, you have to feel its needs, take care of it, ensure them the right lighting and the right amount of water and thus they are a bit demanding, especially if they are several, as in my case.  Some have already opened their buds even in January, February or March, some have done so after a pause of a few years.  As my acquaintances and friends in real life do not know my passion for orchids, I decided to share photos and stories about these wonderful creatures with them on social  network  channels. You as readers of this blog are now familiar with this hobby of mine but I share nevertheless the latest blooms with you too.  These you see here have been in bloom for a while, so soon they will begin to lose flowers and petals and since I have others that are starting to be reborn and that have already pushed their stems forward, you will soon see others.

Vi ringrazio per la vostra attenzione che dedichiate a tutti i miei post e spero che vi siano piaciute le mei cose belle di questo mese.

John Wick - Parabellum - le mie impressioni / John Wick - Parabellum - my impressions

Ciao carissimi lettori,

Come avrete già capito dal titolo di questo post sono andata a vedere il terzo capitolo della saga John Wick che vede nei panni del personaggio principale il famoso attore Keanu Reeves. Per chi non ha visto i primi due capitoli e non sa di cosa si tratta in questi film vi spiego in poche righe il trama centrale di questo saga. John Wick è un ex assassino al servizio della Gran Tavola, un gruppo di diverse mafie provenienti da tutto il mondo. Si era ritirato quando aveva conosciuto la moglie e dopo che lei è deceduta ha continuato la sua vita cercando di rispettare i desideri e i principi di vita di sua moglie. Nel primo capitolo vediamo come un attacco da parte di altro gruppo di mafiosi russi lo fa ritornare alla sua vecchia vita e John comincia a fare di nuovo quello che sa fare meglio, uccidere. Tutto gira intorno al hotel Continental che ospita l'elite del mondo dei sicari e che una terra sacra per tutti loro perché l'unica regola che va rispettata dentro questo posto è che non ci si può uccidere sul suo territorio senza rischiare la scomunica. Nel secondo capitolo, John Wick si ritrova davanti la Camorra, che rivendica e vuole riscuotere  un pegno, un debito sigillato col sangue che lo legava ancora al suo passato.

Il finale del secondo capitolo da nascita a quello che sarà il terzo capitolo e vede John Wick lottare contro tutto il mondo, anche contro coloro che prima erano i suoi amici, per salvare la sua vita. L'ora di tregua che Winston, il direttore del Continental, le da prima della scomunica ufficiale le fa guadagnare tempo per prepararsi ad affrontare una folla di assassini inferociti che cercano di ucciderlo e riscuotere la taglia che c'è sulla sua testa.

Come sapete già, io odio gli spoiler, quindi se vi aspettate che vi racconti in dettaglio quello che succederà, potete anche smettere di leggere il mio post. Intendo condividere con voi le mie impressioni dopo aver visto questo film. Dal punto di vista del trama, questo film è più coerente e la sequenzialità degli eventi è più precisa e concisa. Per tutti i capitoli di questa saga la regia è stata affidata sempre a Chad Stahelski e questo si può notare nella costruzione dei singoli momenti ma anche nella prevalenza delle scene di combattimento e arti marziali. Come curiosità, ho scoperto che Chad Stahelski che in origine era partito come cascatore ha fatto la parte della controfigura di Keanu Reeves nella trilogia Matrix.

Ci sono altri aspetti importanti che meritano di essere condivisi con noi come la presenza molto dinamica e coinvolgente di Halle Berry nei panni di Sofia, anche essa una ex-killer che vuole dimenticare e lasciare indietro il suo passato ma viene costretta a ritornare.

Possiamo ancora godere della presenza di Lawrence Fishburne nella parte di Bowery King il re del ghetto, Ian McShane nella parte del direttore Winston e Lance Reddick nella parte del rigoroso Charon, il concierge del Continental.  Come nuove addizioni al cast, ho apprezzato molto la presenza di Angelica Huston nei panni di una raffinata ed eccentrica Roma Ruska, donna d'affari e capo della mafia bielorussa, Mark Dacascos, nei panni di Zero, killer professionista, maestro d'arti marziali, sushi chef nonché ammiratore di John Wick e finalmente Asia Kate Dillon, nei panni dell'implacabile e intransigente giudicatrice della Gran Tavola.

Il film è ricco di scene di combattimento come potevate già intuire, colpi ben assestati (se la danno di santa ragione anche alle zone intime) momenti di suspence, eventi inattesi e sconvolgenti. John Wick Parabellum è un film d'azione iperadrenalinico criticato da alcuni per essere troppo violento, troppo nervoso, ironico e con troppi cadaveri, io personalmente lo trovo normale per un film del genere action. Tuttavia sono d'accordo con l'apprezzamento delle coreografie dei combattimenti come entusiasmanti, elettrizzanti e molto curate.

Se doveste vedere questo film, vi prego fatemi sapere cosa ne pensate dell'addestramento che hanno ricevuto i cani di Sofia per attaccare e ferire soprattutto la zona inguinale.

Anche se ho promesso di non rivelare fatti importanti di questo film, vi dico comunque che il finale di questo film lascia tanto spazio ad un altro sequel e l'unica cosa di cui mi dispiace e dover aspettare altri 2 o 3 anni per quello che si spera, sarà il capitolo finale.

As you will have already understood from the title of this post I went to see the third chapter of the saga John Wick that sees in the shoes of the main character the famous actor Keanu Reeves. For those who have not seen the first two chapters and do not know what is the main subject in these films I will explain in a few lines the central plot of this saga. John Wick is a former assassin in the service of the High Table, a group of different mafias from all over the world. He had retired when he met his wife and after she died he continued his life trying to respect his wife's wishes and life principles. In the first chapter we see how an attack by another group of Russian mobsters brings him back to his old life and John begins to do again what he does best, killing. Everything revolves around the Continental hotel that houses the elite of the world of hired killers and a sacred land for all of them because the only rule that must be respected in this place is that one can't kill  on its territory without risking excommunication. In the second chapter, John Wick finds himself in front of the Camorra, which claims and wants to collect a pledge, a debt sealed with blood that still tied him to his past.

The ending of the second chapter gives birth to what will be the third chapter and sees John Wick fighting against the whole world, even those who were his first friends to save his life. The hour of respite that Winston, the manager of the Continental, gives him before the official excommunication makes him gain time to prepare himself to face a crowd of angry killers who try to kill him and collect the size that is on his head. 

As you already know, I hate spoilers, so if you expect me to tell you in detail what will happen, you can also stop reading my post. I intend to share my impressions with you after watching this movie. From the point of view of the plot, this film is more coherent and the sequence of events is more precise and concise. The direction of all the chapters of this saga  has always been entrusted to Chad Stahelski and this can be noticed in the construction of the single moments but also in the prevalence of the fighting and martial arts scenes. As a curiosity, I discovered that Chad Stahelski who originally started out as a stuntman did the part of Keanu Reeves's stunt double in the Matrix trilogy.

There are other important aspects that deserve to be shared with us as the very dynamic and engaging presence of Halle Berry in the role of Sofia, also an ex-killer who wants to forget and leave behind her past but is forced to return.We can still enjoy the presence of Lawrence Fishburne in the role of Bowery King the king of the ghetto, Ian McShane in the role of director Winston and Lance Reddick in the part of Charon, the strict concierge of the Continental. Like new additions to the cast, I really appreciated the presence of Angelica Huston as a refined and eccentric Roma Ruska, businesswoman and head of the Belarusian mafia, Mark Dacascos, in the role of Zero, professional killer, master of martial arts , sushi chef and admirer of John Wick and finally Asia Kate Dillon, in the role of the implacable and uncompromising judge of the High Table.

The film is full of fighting scenes as you could already guess, well-aimed blows (the intimate areas get seriously damaged) moments of suspense, unexpected and shocking events. John Wick Parabellum is a hyperadrenaline action film criticized by some for being too violent, too nervous, ironic and with too many corpses, I personally find it normal for a film of the action genre. However I agree with the appreciation of the choreography of the fighting scenes as exciting, electrifying and very accurate.
If you were to watch this movie, please let me know what you think of the training that the Sofia's dogs received to attack and injure especially the groin area.

Although I promised not to reveal important facts about this film, I can tell you, however, that the ending of this film leaves much room for another sequel and the only thing I'm sorry about is having to wait another 2 or 3 years for what it hopefully will be, the final chapter.

Avengers Endgame - NO Spoiler Alert!

Mi chiederete se vado tutti i giorni al cinema, purtroppo ragazzi, questo è stato il mese che sono usciti tutti i film che aspettavo di vedere da anni... L'ultimo film che ho visto questo fine settimana (e non sarà l'ultimo di questo mese anche se non credo che riuscirò ancora a recensirlo) è il tanto atteso capitolo finale della famosa serie Marvel: Avengers. Io non mi ritengo una grande intenditrice di film o un esperto nel campo, per questo ce ne sono tantissime persone molto qualificate, alcuni anche blogger molto bravi che seguo con piacere, però mi piace sempre dire quello che penso su un film, un attore o il trama di un film. Farò quindi anche la stessa cosa per quanto riguarda Avengers: Endgame, l'ultimo capitolo che vedrà riuniti tutti gli Avengers. Di solito comincio sempre con una piccola introduzione in cui parlo del background e della storia del film ma non è il caso per Avengers Endgame perché ormai la storia la conosciamo tutti e per chi non ha seguito i capitoli precedenti, sarebbe inutile leggere una descrizione infinita che farebbe passare la voglia a chiunque di vedere il film. Quindi comincio subito condividendo le mie impressioni. Prima di tutto vi dico che questo film vi sorprenderà, vi sorprenderà più di quanto possiate mai immaginare. Prima di vedere il film, avevo guardato innumerevoli filmini su youtube in cui si facevano congetture sul possibile finale, su come Thanos sarebbe stato sconfitto e chi sarebbe stato l'artefice della caduta del tanto odiato personaggio e vi devo dire che nessuno di quei video si avvicina lontanamente. Non voglio fare uno spoiler anche se probabilmente annunciando un finale cosi improvviso ho già fatto uno però vi assicuro che se siete fan di questa saga vi godrete il finale. Certo non tutti gli eroi faranno una bella fine, ma credo che vi siete già abituati all'idea, soprattutto dopo Avengers: Infinity war ma nonostante questo le sorprese sanano piacevoli. Confesso che durante il film non me ne sono accorta della sua durata ma aver passato quasi 3 ore a seguire le avventure di questi impavidi eroi, nel mio caso, è valsa la pena. Consiglio però di non andare a vederlo la sera tardi perché rischiate di uscire dal cinema giusto in tempo per iniziare la giornata di lavoro.
Sono sicura che fino ad adesso avete un eroe preferito, io ne avevo più di uno e ho apprezzato molto lo sviluppo che hanno avuto in questo film. Non tutti i personaggi avranno la stessa importanza, ci sarà uno sviluppo positivo o meno ma stiate certi che anche il vostro eroe subirà una trasformazione.
Parliamo adesso degli effetti speciali e la produzione, dal mio punto di vista abbiamo a che fare con uno dei migliori film Avengers, i fratelli Russo sono riusciti alla grande a gestire la presenza di tutti questi attori e ottimizzare il budget girando alcune scene già dal precedente Avengers: Infinity War. Aspettatevi scene di combattimento molto intensi, un ritmo ben sostenuto e momenti molto accattivanti per un totale di 100% azione in stile americano.
Prima di chiudere questo articolo voglio solo riportarvi alcuni fatti post distribuzione, in solo 5 giorni questo film a incassato più di 1 200 000 000 (più di un miliardo) di dollari a livello mondiale stabilendo un nuovo record d'incassi. Noi abbiamo aspettato diversi giorni per vedere il film perché le sale erano al completo e alla fine ci siamo riusciti a prenotare il giorno prima della visione trovando solo dei posti a metà sala.
Le critiche per questo film sono state abbastanza positive, Endgame ottenendo 96% recensioni professionali positive su Rotten Tomatoes con un voto medio di 8.3 su 10 basato su 393 critiche e un punteggio di 77 su 100 basato su 55 recensioni su Metacritic.

You will ask me if I go to the cinema every day, unfortunately, guys, this was the month that all the movies I had been waiting to see for years came out ... The last film I saw this weekend (and it won't be the last I see this month, although I don't think I'll be able to review it) it's the long-awaited final chapter of the famous Marvel: Avengers series. I don't consider myself a great film connoisseur or an expert in the field,  there are so many very qualified people, that can do that, some even very good bloggers that I follow with pleasure, but I always like to say what I think about a film, an actor or the plot of a film. I will therefore also do the same thing regarding Avengers: Endgame, the last chapter that will see all the Avengers reunited. Usually I always start with a small introduction where I talk about the background and the history of the film but it is not the case for Avengers Endgame because now we all know the story and for those who did not follow the previous chapters, it would be useless to read an endless description that it would only make them loose interest in seeing the movie. So I immediately start sharing my impressions. First of all I tell you that this film will surprise you, it will surprise you more than you can ever imagine.Before seeing the movie, I watched countless videos on youtube where they speculated about the possible ending, about how Thanos would be defeated and who would be responsible for the fall of the hated character and I have to tell you that none of those videos approaches remotely. I don't want to make a spoiler even if probably announcing such a sudden ending I have already done one but I assure you that if you are a fan of this saga you will enjoy the ending. Certainly not all the heroes will make it, but I believe that you are already used to the idea, especially after Avengers: Infinity war, but despite this the surprises are pleasant. I confess that during the film I did not notice its duration but having spent almost 3 hours following the adventures of these brave heroes, in my case, was worth it. However, I recommend not going to see it late at night because you risk leaving the cinema just in time to start the new working day.
I'm sure that until now you have a favorite hero, I had more than one and I really enjoyed the development they had in this film. Not all the characters will have the same importance, they will have a positive development or a lesser one but stay sure that your hero will also undergo a transformation.
Now let's talk about the special effects and the production, from my point of view we are dealing with one of the best Avengers movies, the Russo brothers managed to controll the presence of all these actors and optimize the budget by shooting some scenes already from the previous Avengers: Infinity War. Expect intense combat scenes, highly accelerated rythm and captivating moments for a 100% american anction movie. 
Before closing this article I just want to bring you some post-distribution facts, in just 5 days this film has grossed more than 1 200 000 000 (more than a billion) dollars worldwide by setting a new record of takings. We waited several days to see the film because the theaters were full and in the end we managed to book the day before viewing, finding only center hall seats. 
The criticisms for this film were quite positive, Endgame obtaining 96% positive professional reviews on Rotten Tomatoes with an average rating of 8.3 out of 10 based on 393 criticisms and a score of 77 out of 100 based on 55 reviews on Metacritic.

Recensione film dell'orrore La Llorona - l'esperienza più traumatica della mia vita! / Horror movie La Llorona review - the most traumatic esperience of my life!

Cari lettori, potete chiedervi cosa ho per la testa che m'invoglia ad andare a vedere questi film del orrore e per di più al cinema, ma vi prego, pazientate un momento che arriverò subito alla parte traumatica non prima di spendere due parole su questo film. Se siete fanatici dei film horror come lo sono diventata io di recente, sappiate sicuramente che questo film è strettamente legato alla saga CONJURING e fa parte insieme ad altri film di questo genere del franchising The Conjuring Universe che comprende film (voglio nominare solo quelli più recenti è famosi) come: Conjuring del 2013, Conjuring caso Einfield 2016 avendo come protagonisti gli attori Pattrick Wilson e Vera Farminga, la serie Annabelle anche essa strettamente collegata ai casi di fenomeni del paranormale descritti dai due demonologi staunitensi: Ed Warren e Lorraine Warren, e il recente film The Nun. In molti dicono che anche il film Crucifixion, appena visto nei cinema faccia parte della stessa saga, non posso assicurarlo visto che tutti i film inclusi in The Conjuring Universe sono stati distribuiti da Warner Bros. Pictures mentre Crucifixion è stato distribuito da Adler Entretainment. Chiusa questa parantesi mi permetto anche di annunciarvi altri due film prima di discutere La Llorona, quest'anno in estate al quanto pare dovrebbe uscire Annabelle comes home, si stima che per l'anno prossimo potremo vedere nei cinema il film The Conjuring 3 e per quanto riguarda il film The Crooked Man anche se è stato girato e realizzato la data di rilascio nei cinema non è stata ancora definita. Noi restiamo in attesa!!!!

Ritorniamo al film La Llorona, come per gli altri film della saga Conjuring il produttore è sempre James Wan ed è stato distribuito da Warner Bros. Pictures in più ad un certo punto viene nominata e fatta vedere la bambola Annabelle da padre Perez già visto anche nel film Annabelle nel 2014. Questo film parte da una leggenda folclorica diffusa in tutta America Latina. Anche se in origine le storie erano diverse per ogni tribù, l'invasione spagnola le ha un po' unificate tutte arrivando all'idea della donna sposa e madre che piange ininterrottamente per i figli che ha ucciso una volta scoperto il tradimento del marito.  Lasciatemi dire che secondo me, questo film è più terrificante rispetto agli altri film di questa saga, ha più momenti di suspense e crea uno certo stato di apprensione. Il regista ha fatto un buon lavoro secondo me cogliendo sempre il momento perfetto per creare panico e cogliendo ogni momento per amplificare il terrore a livelli parossistici. Il trucco eccellente per un film horror, avrei qualcosa da dire sul vestiario ma possiamo anche ignorarlo. 
Arriviamo adesso al perché questo film è stato la più traumatica esperienza della mia vita, vi chiedo prima di prepararvi perché non ci crederete affatto. Il trauma non è dovuto per niente al fatto che il film faceva paura, tutto il contrario. In sala, accanto a me c'era una ragazzina, sotto i 18 anni venuta insieme al ragazzo probabilmente per fare una bella figura, peccato che per tutto il tempo non ha fatto altro che urlare, delle vere grida parossistiche unite a delle crisi di pianto e rabbia. Dietro di me, altre due signore sui 40 anni che urlavano per fare concorrenza alla ragazza. All'inizio non potevo non ridere per la loro reazione ma alla lunga mi ero rotta veramente di farmi sfuggire i momenti terrificanti perché le loro grida li anticipavano. Ad un certo punto pensavo che se i produttori avessero sentito le grida delle persone in causa, le avrebbero scelte per girare il film low cost. 
In conclusione l'esperienza traumatica è dovuta al fatto che non ho potuto godermi veramente un film dell'orrore. Ogni brivido non vissuto pienamente era simile ad un orgasmo non pervenuto quindi credo di aver illustrato bene il trauma vissuto. Consiglio pienamente di controllare chi è seduto accanto a voi nel caso doveste decidere di vedere il film.

Dear readers, you may wonder what I have in mind that encourages me to go and see these horror films and moreover to the cinema, but please, be patient for a moment that I will immediately get to the traumatic part not before spending a few words on this movie. If you are a fanatic of horror movies as I have recently become, you must know that this film is closely linked to the CONJURING saga and is part, along with other films of this genre, of the Conjuring Universe which includes films as (I want to name only the most recent and famous ones): Conjuring of 2013, Conjuring Einfield case of 2016 having as protagonists the actors Pattrick Wilson and Vera Farminga, the Annabelle series also closely related to the cases of paranormal phenomena described by the two US demonologists: Ed Warren and Lorraine Warren, and the recent movie The Nun. Many say that even the film Crucifixion, just seen at the cinema, is part of the same saga, I can't assure it since all the films included in The Conjuring Universe were distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures while Crucifixion was distributed by Adler Entretainment. With this paranthesis closed, I would also like to announce two more films before discussing La Llorona, this year "Annabelle comes home" is apparently due to come out in summer, it is estimated that for next year we will be able to see the movie The Conjuring 3 in theaters and as for the movie The Crooked Man even though filming is done, the release date was not established yet. We are still waiting !!!!
Let's get back to to the film La Llorona, as for the other films in the Conjuring saga the producer is always James Wan and was distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures in more at some point is named and shown the Annabelle doll by father Perez already seen in the film Annabelle in 2014. This film starts from a folkloric legend spread throughout Latin America. Although the stories were originally different for each tribe, the Spanish invasion unified them all, based on the idea of the woman  bride and  mother who weeps uninterruptedly for the children she killed once she discovered her husband's betrayal. Let me tell you that in my opinion this film is more terrifying than the other films in this saga, it has more moments of suspense and creates a certain state of apprehension. The director has done a good job in my opinion always taking the perfect moment to create panic and seizing every moment to amplify the terror to paroxysmal levels. The make up was excellent for a horror movie, I have something to say about clothing but we can also ignore that.
We get now to why this film was the most traumatic experience of my life,  but I must ask you first to prepare yourselves because you won't believe it at all. The trauma is not due to the fact that the film was scary, quite the opposite. In the cinema theatre, near me there was a girl, under 18 who came with her boyfriend, probably to make a good impression, a shame that all the time she did nothing else but scream, true paroxystic shouts combined to crysis of crying and anger. Behind me, two other ladies in their 40s were screaming in competition with the girl. At first I couldn't help laughing at their reaction but in the long run I really got annoyed wasting all the terrifying moments because their cries anticipated them. At one point I thought that if the producers had heard the cries of the people involved, they would have chosen them to shoot the movie with a low-cost agenda.
In conclusion the traumatic experience was due to the fact that I could not really enjoy a horror movie. Every thrill that was not fully experienced was similar to a non reached orgasm, so I believe I have well illustrated the trauma I experienced. I fully recommend checking out who is sitting next to you if you should  decide to watch the movie.I hope you enjoyed my article and my review, and I'll get back to you at the next post.

Equalizer 2 senza perdono - recensione film - che meraviglia! / Equalizer 2 - movie review - what a blast!

Senza perdono è il nome di questo sequel e lo è veramente perché in questo film il protagonista, rappresentato sempre dal mitico Denzel Washington, non perdona nessuno. Ho visto questo film, il fine settimana scorso e stavolta mi sono promessa di parlare brevemente sul mio blog anche dei film che mi sono piaciuti. Non sono mai riuscita a farlo fino adesso, o l'ho fatto raramente, ma questo film merita il mio tempo per condividere le mie impressioni sul blog. Il film è un vero film d'azione, ci sono tantissimi combattimenti, momenti di suspense, colpi di scena e ambienti ben pensati, tutto sotto una regia impeccabile dal mio punto di vista. Il regista, Antoine Fuqua, ha diretto anche Attacco al potere (Olympus has fallen), King Arthur nel 2004 e L'ultima Sfida (Southpaw) tra tanti altri film. Una parola sugli altri attori, sempre bravissima e convincente Melissa Leo, un cattivo piacevolmente sorprendente recitato da Pedro Pascal e ancora più intrigante e eccezionale è Ashton Sanders nei panni di Miles Whittaker, un bravo ragazzo che cerca la sua strada nella vita, lontano dalle bande. Se nel primo film abbiamo visto un Robert McCall che cerca di vivere la sua vita in tranquillità, lontano dai guai e lontano da quella che era stata la sua precedente occupazione e cambia percorso solo quando la disgrazia di una ragazza quasi sconosciuta l'impressiona a tal punto da rinunciare alla promessa fatta alla moglie deceduta, in questo film vediamo sin dall'inizio un Robert deciso a non lasciare vincere i cattivi, un giustiziere, uno sconosciuto che si vendica al posto tuo riportandoti a casa la bambina sequestrata. Paragonandolo al primo film, il sequel è decisamente scritto meglio, ha una storia più elaborata e anche i cattivi sono personaggi più complessi, non lineari ma con tante sfaccettature che quasi ti fanno comprendere la loro scelta. Dal mio punto di vista, questo film merita anche di essere visto al cinema perché ha dei bei effetti speciali, una bella musica, grandi attori, una storia valida e non dimentichiamoci che l'eroe è Denzel Washington. Ma anche se non riuscite a vederlo al cinema, non dimenticatevi di vederlo su dvd oppure alla tv.

Without forgiveness is the name of this sequel and it really is like that because in this film the protagonist, always represented by the legendary Denzel Washington, does not forgive anyone. I saw this film last weekend and this time I promised to talk briefly on my blog also about the films I liked. I've never been able to do it until now, or I've rarely done so, but this film deserves the time spent to share my impressions on the blog. The film is a real action movie, there are lots of fights, moments of suspense, twists and well-thought out environments, all under an impeccable direction from my point of view. The director, Antoine Fuqua, also directed Olympus has fallen, King Arthur in 2004 and Southpaw among many other films. A word about the other actors, always very good and convincing Melissa Leo, a pleasantly surprising bad guy played by Pedro Pascal and even more intriguing and exceptional is Ashton Sanders in the role of Miles Whittaker, a good guy who seeks his way in life, away from the bands . If in the first film we saw a Robert McCall trying to live his life in peace, away from trouble and away from what had been his previous occupation and changing direction only when the misfortune of an almost unknown girl impresses him to the point to renounce the promise made to the deceased wife, in this film we see from the outset a Robert determined not to let the bad guys win, a vigilante, a stranger who takes vengeance in your place bringing a kidnapped child home. Comparing it to the first film, the sequel is definitely better written, has a more elaborate story and even the bad guys are more complex characters, not linear but with many facets that almost make you understand their choice. From my point of view, this film also deserves to be seen at the cinema because it has some nice special effects, beautiful music, great actors, a good story and let's not forget that the hero is Denzel Washington. But even if you can not see it at the cinema, do not forget to watch it on DVD or on TV.

Escape plan 2 - movie review

Ciao carissimi lettori,
Ritorno con un altra recensione di un film e sto cominciando a pensare che ormai parlo dei film che vedo sul mio blog solo quando mi deludono. Eh, si, è facile capire che anche questo film mi abbia deluso. Per quale motivo? Beh, cominciamo dal cast, veramente deludente, ho avuto per tutto il tempo la sensazione che abbiano sbagliato ad assegnare i ruoli perché vediamo attori imponenti a recitare nella parte di personaggi inconsistenti e attori visti fino ad adesso in teen movies nella parte dei grandi eroi. In più, il numero alto di personaggi che alla fine fanno le stesse cose non aiuta molto. Ho avuto per tutto il tempo in mente il primo Escape plan e mi chiedevo prima di tutto perché non avessero scelto lo stesso regista, aveva fatto un buon lavoro nell'altro film mentre questo sequel diretto da Steven Miller era spesso approssimativo con dei passaggi secchi e repentini che non hanno suscitato per niente il mio interesse. Anche la storia secondo me è carente, la sceneggiatura sembrava scritta da una persona con un basso quoziente intellettivo, sempre annoiata. Appena sufficiente la recitazione di Huang Xiaoming, Titus Welliver e Sylvester Stallone che perlomeno hanno salvato questo film dal essere un disastro totale. Stavo guardando il cast e me ne sono resa conto che non ricordo nemmeno di aver visto certi attori e mi riferisco soprattutto alle ragazze che hanno avuto delle parti inconsistenti, pressoché fotocopiate. Io sono sempre stata una fan di Sylvester Stallone da bambina, ma devo ammettere che questo film rientra nella sua collezione di film da premio Razzie. Un po' c'era da aspettarselo solo per il semplice fatto che questo film è stato realizzato con quasi un terzo del budget del primo film, vi ricordate il detto, hai quello che paghi? Beh, questo è un buon esempio! 
Con una regia migliore, una sceneggiatura migliore, un cast non cosi folto ma con attori di un certo calibro, questo poteva essere un grande film.

Here I am again with another movie review and I start to think that lately I talk about movies on my blog only when they disapoint me. Well, it's easy to immagine that this film also has failed to fulfil my expectations. For what reason? Well, let's start with the cast, really disappointing, I had the feeling that they went wrong when assigning the roles because we see imposing actors playing the role of inconsistent characters and actors seen up until now olny in teen movies, in the part of the great heroes. In addition, the high number of characters that in the end do the same things does not help much. I had the first Escape plan in mind all the time and I wondered first of all why they did not choose the same director, he did a good job in the other movie while this sequel directed by Steven Miller was often approximate with short and sudden transitions that did not raise my interest at all. Even the story is lacking in my opinion, the script seemed to had been written by a person with a low IQ that was always bored. Hardly acceptable the performance of Huang Xiaoming, Titus Welliver and Sylvester Stallone who at least saved this movie from being a total disaster. I was looking at the cast and I realized that I do not even remember seeing some actors and I mean mostly the girls, who had some inconsistent, almost photocopied parts. I've always been a fan of Sylvester Stallone when I was a child, but I have to admit that this movie is part of his Razzie film collection. A little 'to be expected only for the simple fact that this film was made with almost a third of the budget of the first movie, you know the saying, you had what you've paid for? Well, this is a good example!
With a better direction, a better script, a cast not so big but with actors of a certain caliber this would had been a great movie.

I segreti di Wind River - recensione di film / Wind River - movie review

Ho visto questo fine settimana al cinema I Segreti di Wind River e sono rimasta piacevolmente sorpresa. Innanzitutto il film  è un thriller ben scritto, ben realizzato, intrigante e sorprendente. Non è per niente scontato e la storia e molto intricata, attira l'attenzione e mantiene vivo l'interesse fino all'ultimo risvolto inaspettato. Ho apprezzato molto la scenografia e la regia, non per niente hanno vinto il premio "Un certain regard" per la miglior regia al festival di Cannes. Il film ripercorre la storia  dell'uccisione di una giovane ragazza nella riserva indiana di Wind River e gli investigatori che si riuniscono per far luce sull'accaduto scoprono che dietro a questa storia si nascondono molto altri cadaveri. Ho apprezzato molto anche la recitazione dei protagonisti di questo film e confesso che prima di questo film non ho degnato di molta considerazione e interesse ne Jeremy Renner, ne Elizabeth Olsen ma con questo film si sono rivelati dei bravissimi attori, molto carismatici e talentuosi. Reputo dunque meritata la candidatura di Jeremy Renner ai premi Satellite Awards come miglior attore. Non è un film semplice, non è un film leggero ma è un film complesso che ha alla base una realtà molto triste nella comunità dei nativi americani, cioè il fatto che non esistono statistiche riguardanti le sparizioni femminili nelle loro riserve. Ricco anche in scene di combattimento e sparatorie, questo film  può soddisfare anche gli amanti dei film d'azione. Dal mio punto di vista questo film merita di essere visto anche al cinema.

This weekend I saw at the cinema the movie Wind River and I was pleasantly surprised. First of all, the film is a well-written thriller, well done, intriguing and surprising. It is not at all obvious and the story is very intricate, attracts attention and keeps alive the interest until the last surprising aspect. I really enjoyed the scenography and the direction, not for nothing they won the "Un certain regard" award for best director at the Cannes Film Festival. The film traces the story of the killing of a young girl in the Indian reserve of Wind River and the investigators who gather to shed light on the incident find that behind this story many other bodies are hidden. I also appreciated the acting of the protagonists of this film and I confess that before this film I did not deign much consideration and interest in Jeremy Renner, nor Elizabeth Olsen but with this film they turned out to be very good actors, very charismatic and talented. I therefore consider Jeremy Renner's candidacy to be nominated as the best actor at the Satellite Awards well deserved. It is not a simple or a light film, instead is a complex film that is based on a very sad reality in the community of Native Americans, that is the fact that there are no statistics regarding female disappearances in their reserves. Rich in combat scenes and shootings, this film can also satisfy action-movie lovers. From my point of view this movie deserves to be seen at the cinema too.
