Solo Cose Belle mese di Dicembre e una sorpresa / Only Beautiful Things month of December and a surprise

Finalmente ritorno con la puntata Solo Cose Belle relativa al mese di Dicembre e per questo mese avrei tante belle cose da condividere con voi. Prima di tutto, ho sempre aspettato con impazienza il mese di Dicembre perché questo mese si festeggia il Natale e da quando sono piccola per me questa festa è sempre stata molto speciale. Adoro il Natale perché mi piace addobbare gli alberi, come potrete vedere ne abbiamo due alberi grandi e qualche altro alberello piccolino, mi piace preparare la casa, riempirla di cianfrusaglie natalizie e candele profumate ma soprattutto adoro il Natale perché è il mese dei regali. Qualcuno aveva notato un po' di tempo fa che a me piace più fare regali che riceverli, non so quanto sia vera questa affermazione ma quello che è vero è che adoro preparare con le mie manine i pacchettini e vedere l'emozione negli occhi di chi li riceve. In questa puntata quindi vi farò vedere i miei alberi di Natale e qualche scatto delle diverse decorazioni.

I love Christmas because I like to decorate the trees, as you can see we have two normal size Christmas trees and some other small one, I like to prepare the house, fill it with Christmas trinkets and scented candles but above all I love Christmas because it is the month of gifts. Someone had noticed some time ago that I like more giving gifts than receiving them, I don't know how true thas statement was but what is true is that I love to prepare packages with my hands and see the emotion in the eyes of those who receive them. In this episode, therefore, I will show you my Christmas trees and some shots of the different decorations.

Vorrei però parlarvi di un evento che mi emozionata moltissimo, evento che è stato una bellissima sorpresa per me. Alla fine del mese di novembre avevo vinto il Giveaway del Blog Anniversario della mia amica blogger Lulù e a Dicembre ho ricevuto il suo premio sorpresa che vorrei condividere con voi in questo post. Come potete notare lei ha una manualità straordinaria e ha ricamato con tanta precisione 2 presine da cucina a tema "mele" che io adoro tantissimo e ho collocato con molto entusiasmo nella mia cucina. Non so come abbia fatto Lulù ma ha pure indovinato il fatto che le mele sono fra i miei frutti preferiti, ogni giorno ne mangio una mela e quindi avere queste presine tanto carine mi ha fatto un enorme piacere. Inoltre queste presine sono state accompagnate da una deliziosa cartolina realizzata con molta cura e precisione sempre da lei. La gioia di ricevere questo dono mi ha messo di buon umore tutta la settimana e gliene sono veramente grata.

I would also like to talk to you about an event that moved me very much, an event that was a wonderful surprise for me. At the end of November I had won the Giveaway of my blogger friend Lulù's Anniversary Blog and in December I received her surprise award which I would like to share with you in this post. As you can see, she has an extraordinary dexterity and has embroidered with great precision 2 "apple" themed kitchen pot holders which I love very much and have enthusiastically placed in my kitchen. I don't know how Lulu did it but she also guessed the fact that apples are among my favorite fruits, every day I eat an apple and therefore having these very nice pot holders, gave me a huge pleasure. In addition, these pot holders were accompanied by a delightful postcard made with great care and precision always by her. The joy of receiving this gift has put me in a good mood all week and I am truly grateful to her.

Recensione maschera in tessuto Tender Skin Aloe Mask / Tender Skin Aloe tissue Mask - review

Sicuramente vi chiedevate quando sarei ritornata con un post sulle mie amate maschere in tessuto. Ecco, io ne uso almeno una di queste maschere a settimana, ho provato diversi brand e tra delusioni e amori, ho scelto alcuni prodotti e brand come miei preferiti, ho deciso di bandire certi prodotti dalla mia skin care, mentre su certi prodotti ci vorrei ancora riflettere. Vi ricorderete sicuramente della mia maschera preferita del marchio Lanbena, recensita QUI e presto ve ne parlerò di altre maschere dello stesso marchio però oggi vorrei parlarvi di un prodotto diverso di un marchio diverso. Vorrei recensire la maschera TENDER SKIN ALOE MASK del brand cinese White Cosmetics. Ho acquistato questo prodotto sul sito Aliexpress, sicuramente conosciuto a molti di voi e confesso che il prezzo era molto invitante. Purtroppo non riuscirò a fare una recensione completa come sono solita fare perché mancano le informazioni dal produttore, indicazioni di utilizzo e tanto altro in quanto le informazioni sul packaging sono per lo più in cinese e stranamente, il cinese, io non lo parlo :D

Dalle poche indicazioni in inglese vi posso dire che questa maschera dovrebbe migliorare l’idratazione e l’elasticità della pelle. Contiene acido hyaluronico ed estratto di aloe vera che renderanno la pelle levigata, luminosa, soffice ed idratata. Dal disegno sul packaging ho capito che il tempo di posa è di 15 minuti.

Packaging: Busta individuale con indicazioni per la maggior parte in cinese contenente una maschera in tessuto e 25 ml di essenza.

Prezzo: fra i 0,70 e 2 € per pezzo in base alla tipologia di acquisto, singolo oppure in pacchetti con più maschere; disponibile in 5 tipologie

Reperibilità: Internet, Aliexpress

Consistenza: Il prodotto comprende una maschera in tessuto, un foglio bianco che aiuta a piegare e applicare la maschera e 25 ml di essenza

Modo d’uso: Leggendo la descrizione generale di queste maschere (ce ne sono altre 5 tipologie) su Aliexpress posso informarvi che il prodotto viene applicato dopo aver pulito la pelle adeguatamente, va lasciato in posa per 15-20 minuti tempo in cui potete leggere o semplicemente rilassarvi.

Valutazione personale: La busta contiene tanto liquido quindi consiglio di agitarla un po’ prima di aprirla per far assorbire meglio l’essenza nel tessuto. Il prodotto contiene una maschera in tessuto biancastro molto fine ed essenza sotto forma di liquido trasparente. Il prodotto ha un profumo fresco e semplice. Il fatto che la maschera viene accompagnata da un foglio bianco rigido rende più precisa l’applicazione. Il tessuto è soffice e morbido e aderisce perfettamente al contorno del viso. La busta contiene tanto liquido quindi ho prolungato il tempo di posa a 30 minuti. Ho utilizzato questa maschera dopo averla tenuta nel frigorifero per una quindicina di minuti il che ha aumentato la sensazione di freschezza durante e dopo l’applicazione. Dopo aver tolto la maschera ho subito notato una pelle liscia, luminosa, fine, levigata e idratata, sensazione che si è mantenuta per tutta la giornata. Non ho una preparazione al riguardo e quindi non so sempre leggere e comprendere la lista degli ingredienti e di solito li cerco su internet ma in questo caso non è stato per niente facile trovarli. Confesso di non sapere ancora se questo prodotto ha ingredienti dannosi o meno tranne per un potenziale allergene. Se qualcuno ha la preparazione necessaria e vorrebbe condividere queste informazioni con noi sarebbe il benvenuto. Ho provato 2 volte questo prodotto e mi ritengo abbastanza soddisfatta, preferirei però avere più informazioni in inglese. Il principale inconveniente nell’acquisto di questo prodotto è il lungo tempo di attesa perché il prodotto arrivi. Ho dovuto attendere circa 2 mesi per avere questo prodotto.

PRO: buoni risultati, idrata la pelle e la rende soffice e levigata; buon rapporto qualità - prezzo

CONTRO: poche indicazioni in inglese, tempo di consegna molto lungo

Conclusione: Credo che questo prodotto potrebbe essere apprezzato dalle persone con pelle secca e problemi di idratazione che cercano di trovare un buon affare e non spendere troppo per la loro skin care.

Surely you were wondering when I would return with a post about my beloved sheet masks. Well, I use at least one of these masks a week, I tried different brands and between disappointments and loves, I chose some products and brands as my favorites, I decided to ban certain products from my skin care, while on certain products I would prefer still to reflect. You will surely remember my favorite mask of the Lanbena brand, reviewed HERE and soon I will talk to you about other masks of the same brand but today I would like to talk to you about a different product of a different brand. I would like to review the TENDER SKIN ALOE MASK of the Chinese brand White Cosmetics. I purchased this product on the Aliexpress site, certainly known to many of you and I confess that the price was very attractive. Unfortunately I will not be able to do a complete review as I usually do because there is no information from the manufacturer, indications of use and much more since the information on the packaging is mostly in Chinese and strangely, I do not speak Chinese :D

From the few indications in English I can tell you that this mask is supposed to improve skin hydration and elasticity. Contains hyaluronic acid and aloe vera extract which will make the skin smooth, radiant, soft and hydrated. From the design on the packaging I understood that the time of application is 15 minutes.

Packaging: Individual envelope with indications mostly in Chinese containing a fabric mask and 25 ml of essence.

Price: between 1.50 and 2 € available in packages of 5 pieces

Availability: Internet, Aliexpress

Consistency: The product includes a fabric mask, a white rigid sheet that helps to fold and apply the mask and 25 ml of essence

How to use: Reading the general description of these masks (there are 5 other types) on Aliexpress I can inform you that the product is applied after cleaning the skin properly, it must be left on for 15-20 minutes, time in which you can read or just relax.

Personal evaluation: The bag contains a lot of liquid so I recommend shaking it a little before opening it to better absorb the essence into the fabric. The product contains a mask in very fine whitish fabric and essence under the form of a transparent liquid. The product has a fresh and simple perfume. The fact that the mask is accompanied by a rigid white sheet makes the application more precise. The fabric is soft and dim and adheres perfectly to the contour of the face. The envelope contains a lot of liquid so I extended the application time to 30 minutes. I used this mask after holding it in the refrigerator for about fifteen minutes which increased the feeling of freshness during and after application. After removing the mask, I immediately noticed a smooth, luminous, fine and hydrated skin, a sensation that remained throughout the day. I do not have a preparation in this regard and therefore I cannot always read and understand the list of ingredients and I usually search for them on the internet but in this case it was not easy at all to find them. I confess I still don't know if this product has harmful ingredients or not except for a potential allergen. If someone has the necessary preparation and would like to share this information with us, he or she would be welcomed to do it. I have tried this product twice and I am quite satisfied, but I would prefer to have more information in English. The main drawback in purchasing this product is the long waiting time for the product to arrive. I had to wait about 2 months to get this product.

PRO: good results, moisturizes the skin and makes it soft and smooth; good value for money

CONS: few indications in English, very long delivery time

Conclusion: I believe this product could be appreciated by people with dry skin and lack of hydration problems who also seek to find a good deal and not spend too much on their skin care.

Oggi vorrei recensire il libro La signora Dalloway di Virginia Woolf. Non so se vi ricordate il post solo cose belle del mese di luglio del 2020 dove io preannunciavo già, quanto mi avesse colpito in modo positivo questo libro. Nonostante io abbia letto diversi altri libri prima di questo che non ho ancora recensito pubblicamente, sento che adesso è finalmente il momento giusto per parlarvi di questo romanzo. Non credo che io sia in grado di valutare l’opera di una scrittrice come Virginia Woolf e quindi la mia recensione è solo il tentativo di una fan di parlare di opera che l’ha profondamente impressionata. Se dovessi descrivere l'orgasmo cognitivo, l'opera di questa scrittrice è una delle poche cose che mi viene in mente. Il suo talento e la sua maestria nel scegliere e utilizzare con cura le parole per creare immagini, scene, situazioni, per far dialogare i suoi personaggi e sviluppare la narrazione su diversi piani è capace di far godere intellettualmente al lettore una vera estasi artistica. Ogni parola è lì perché è lì che ci dev’essere e la strutturazione della narrazione è creata per mantenere vivo l’interesse del lettore, per stimolarlo, per sollecitare la sua arguzia e gratificare la sua diligenza.

Dopo questa introduzione, vorrei discutere questo libro più specificatamente. Ho apprezzato moltissimo la capacità di Virginia Woolf di toccare aspetti molto importanti della vita attraverso la narrazione di un unico giorno e le vicende argutamente descritte di alcuni personaggi. I personaggi non sono molti ma io mi soffermerò parlare solo dei personaggi che hanno portato il maggior contributo alla storia e alle teorie e concetti descritti di questo libro. Più specificatamente, parlerò della signora Clarissa Dalloway, suo marito Richard Dalloway, Peter Walsh, un vecchio amico e corteggiatore di Clarissa, Septimus, un ex soldato rimasto profondamente marcato dalla guerra, sua moglie Lucrezia, chiamata Rezia che lo accompagna e lo sostiene ovunque, la Signora Bruton, una nobildonna con radici molto importanti e miss Kilman, la tutrice di Elizabeth, la figlia di Clarissa. L’azione del libro si svolge in un’unica giornata e la capacità di Virginia Woolf di spaziare gli eventi e descrivere le forze motrici di questi eventi attraverso la descrizione e i dialoghi dei personaggi, è veramente incredibile. In gioventù, Peter aveva corteggiato assiduamente Clarissa, anche se non era ben accetto dal padre e quando lei aveva deciso di sposare Richard Dalloway, Peter aveva deciso di andare in India. Attraverso i suoi occhi, conosciamo meglio Clarissa, una donna cosmopolita, molto intelligente e raffinata, che purtroppo predilige la vita mondana. Nonostante fosse dotata di acuta intelligenza, arguzia e avesse ricevuto un’ottima educazione, Clarissa sceglie una vita tranquilla, fatta di feste e ricevimenti mondani ai quali partecipano le persone più illustre della società. Suo marito, Richard Dalloway, non altrettanto intelligente ma dotato comunque di grande spirito e soprattutto di agganci nella società, è una persona con un cuore candido. Si considera ancora innamorato della sua sposa e vede la loro vita come una felice. La scrittrice fa riemergere attraverso la dinamica matrimoniale fra Clarissa e Richard, tanti spunti sulla vita coniugale, sulla libertà e dignità di ogni individuo nella coppia e sulla felicità in un matrimonio. In questo caso, entrambi i personaggi rimangono allo stesso livello, anzi, si raggiungono e si completano per formare quello che la società ritiene una buona famiglia. Parlando sempre di coppie e matrimoni, abbiamo Septimus Warren Smith e Lucrezia, chiamata Rezia, con una dinamica completamente diversa. Septimus è un ex soldato, un ex militare che soffre profondamente e psicologicamente le ripercussioni delle guerre che ha fatto perché le immagini di morte lo perseguitano e lo fanno riconsiderare le priorità della vita. Sua moglie invece, descritta come una piccola donna italiana che ha lasciato la famiglia per vivere in Inghilterra e dedicarsi completamente al marito, vive anche lei un forte sentimento di solitudine, ma a dispetto del marito che si sente solo perché incompreso, Rezia, si sente sola perché non ha letteralmente nessuno con cui parlare, se non il marito psicologicamente assente. In questo rapporto, Septimus usa l’amore per essere curato e accudito, mentre Rezia soffre perché innamorata. Attraverso la dinamica di queste due coppie, la scrittrice illustra la complessità di questo sentimento e quanto esso possa cambiare in base alle particolarità dei suoi ricettori. Queste due coppie, mi fanno contestare la frase di Tolstoi che dice che “tutte le famiglie felici si assomigliano fra loro, ogni famiglia infelice, è infelice a modo suo” perché nonostante fosse vero che queste due coppie vivono in maniera completamente diversa l’infelicità, in questo caso vivono in una maniera altrettanto diversa anche la felicità. Mentre per i Dalloway la felicità significa incontrare persone e dialogare, per i Warren Smith, la felicità vuol dire essere lasciati in pace. Qualsiasi intromissione nella loro vita, avrà significati e ripercussioni tragiche.

Un altro rapporto molto interessante è il rapporto signora Dalloway / signora Kilman. Uno potrebbe pensare che non c’è necessità di analizzare il rapporto fra una nobildonna e una sua domestica ma invece io penso che questo rapporto rileva meglio la loro natura e le loro personalità. Clarissa è dell’opinione che una persona ricca ha il dovere di essere magnanima con le persone che non hanno avuto la fortuna di nascere bene come lei ed è per questo motivo molto apprezzata dal suo personale. L’unico dipendente che non la vede cosi è la signora Kilman. Di origini tedesche e nell’atmosfera del dopo guerra, parliamo del primo conflitto mondiale, la Kilman si sente odiata da tutti. Lei risponde alla reticenza della gente con ostilità, nonostante apprezzi il fatto che Richard Dalloway le abbia dato un lavoro in un periodo in cui nessuno voleva un tedesco in casa, lei considera comunque che non fosse molto intelligente. Questo sentimento è generato dall’invidia profonda che la Kilman nutre per Clarissa. La Kilman parla diverse lingue straniere, conosce storia, è una persona colta, una persona che ha studiato ma si vede prigioniera di uno status sociale indegno per lei e per questo motivo odia Clarissa che non ha fatto niente a suo avviso, per meritarsi la posizione sociale, il marito o la figlia. Clarissa percepisce benissimo i sentimenti della Kilman verso di lei e per questo motivo cerca di tenerla a distanza ma non fa quello che ogni genitore premuroso e preoccupato farebbe al posto suo, allontanarla da sua figlia Elizabeth. Nonostante la Kilman cerca di modellare Elizabeth secondo i suoi valori, Elizabeth nel suo profondo la respinge e avverte la sua malignità. Io vedo nella Kilman lo spirito di qualunque rivoluzionario, scontento per la sua situazione sociale, frustrato dell’esistenza della nobiltà e tanto invidioso delle classi superiori da desiderare l’uccisione di queste persone senza un vero processo e senza giusta causa. Fortunatamente per Clarissa ed Elizabeth, la signora Kilman non trova sfogo nella politica ma nella religione e anche se non abbiamo avuto l’occasione di scoprirlo, questo personaggio aveva tutte le carte in regola per diventare una vera fanatica.

Ho trovato molto interessante il modo in cui la scrittrice descriveva le tendenze imperialistiche e la propensione all’invasione del popolo inglese attraverso Lady Bruton che aveva finito per identificarsi con l’emigrazione. Questo personaggio trova nell’emigrazione l’unica soluzione per calmare la “frustrata gioventù della nostra popolazione in continuo aumento” nonché un debito che il popolo ha con i suoi morti e i suoi avi. Per adempiere a questo dovere, lady Bruton impiega tutte le sue risorse e coinvolge tutte le sue conoscenze e tutti i suoi amici nel redigere lettere e progetti da esporre alle camere.

Un personaggio al quale non ho dedicato la giusta attenzione è Septimus Warren Smith, un personaggio con un cognome molto comune ma un nome molto altosonante e memorabile. Non ho potuto fare a meno di chiedermi quanto Virginia Woolf abbia messo di se stessa in questo personaggio. Considerando che adesso siamo a conoscenza della storia della scrittrice, è ovvio che lei abbia rispecchiato in questo personaggio tutti i suoi demoni, le sue paure e le sue debolezze.

Spero che la mia recensione abbia risvegliato anche il vostro interesse per un buon libro e per la buona letteratura di Virginia Woolf. Se avete già letto questo libro, vi prego di farmi sapere cosa ne pensate, se vi è piaciuto e cosa avete apprezzato. Today I would like to review Virginia Woolf's book Mrs. Dalloway. I do not know if you remember the post only beautiful things of themonth of July 2020 where I already announced how much this book had impressed me in a positive way. Although I have read several other books before this one that I have not yet publicly reviewed, I feel that now is finally the right time to talk to you about this novel.  I don't retain myself capable of evaluating the work of a writer like Virginia Woolf and therefore my review is just a fan's attempt to talk about a work that deeply impressed her. If I had to describe cognitive orgasm, this writer's work is one of the few things that comes to my mind. Her talent and her skill in choosing and using words carefully to create images, scenes, situations, to make her characters dialogue and develop the narrative on different levels is capable of making the reader intellectually enjoy a true artistic ecstasy. Each word is there because that is where it had to be and the structure of the narration is created to keep the reader's interest alive, to stimulate him, to solicit his wit and gratify his diligence.

After this introduction, I would like to discuss this book more specifically. I really appreciated Virginia Woolf's ability to touch very important aspects of life through the narration of a single day and the witty described events of some characters. The characters are not many but I will focus on talking only about the characters who have made the greatest contribution to the story, the theories and concepts described in this book. More specifically, I will talk about Mrs. Clarissa Dalloway, her husband Richard Dalloway, Peter Walsh, an old friend and suitor of Clarissa, Septimus, a former soldier who remained deeply marked by the war, his wife Lucrezia, called Rezia who accompanies and supports him everywhere, Mrs. Bruton, a noblewoman with very important roots and Miss Kilman, the guardian of Elizabeth, the daughter of Clarissa. The action of the book takes place in a single day and Virgia Woolf's ability to space events and describe the driving forces of these events through the description and dialogues of the characters is truly incredible. In his youth, Peter had assiduously courted Clarissa, even though he was not well accepted by his father and when she had decided to marry Richard Dalloway, Peter had decided to go to India. Through her eyes, we get to know Clarissa better, a cosmopolitan woman, very intelligent and refined, who unfortunately prefers the mundane life. Despite being gifted with acute intelligence, wit and having received an excellent education, Clarissa chooses a quiet life, made up of mundane parties and receptions attended by the most illustrious people in society. Her husband, Richard Dalloway, not as intelligent but nevertheless gifted with great spirit and above all connections in society, is a person with a candid heart. He still considers himself in love with his bride and sees their life as a happy one. The writer re-emerges through the marriage dynamic between Clarissa and Richard, many ideas on married life, on the freedom and dignity of each individual in the couple and on happiness in a marriage. In this case, both characters remain at the same level, indeed, they join and complement each other to form what society considers a good family. Always talking about couples and weddings, we have Septimus Warren Smith and Lucrezia, called Rezia, with a completely different dynamic. Septimus is a former soldier, a former military man who suffers deeply and psychologically the repercussions of the wars he waged because the images of death haunt him and make him reconsider the priorities of life. His wife, on the other hand, described as a small Italian woman who left her family to live in England and devote herself completely to her husband, also experiences a strong feeling of loneliness, but in spite of her husband who feels alone because he is misunderstood, Rezia feels lonely because she literally has no one to talk to, except her psychologically absent husband. In this relationship, Septimus uses love to be cared for and looked after, while Rezia suffers because she is in love. Through the dynamics of these two couples, the writer illustrates the complexity of this feeling and how much it can change according to the particularities of its receptors. These two couples make me contest Tolstoy's phrase that says that "all happy families are alike, every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way" because although it was true that these two couples experience unhappiness in a completely different way , in this case they also experience happiness in an equally different way. While for the Dalloways, happiness means meeting people and entertain them, for the Warren Smiths, happiness means being left alone. Any interference in their life will have tragical meanings and repercussions.

Another very interesting relationship is the Mrs. Dalloway / Mrs. Kilman relationship. One might think that there is no need to analyze the relationship between a noblewoman and her maid, but instead I think that this relationship reveals best their nature and their personalities. Clarissa is of the opinion that a rich person has a duty to be magnanimous with people who have not had the good fortune to be born as well as she is and is therefore highly appreciated by her staff. The only employee who doesn't see it that way is Ms. Kilman. Of German origins and in the post-war atmosphere, we are talking about the First World War, Kilman feels hated by everyone. She responds to people's reticence with hostility, although she appreciates the fact that Richard Dalloway gave her a job at a time when no one wanted a German in the house, she still considers that he was not very smart. This feeling is generated by the deep envy that miss Kilman has for Clarissa. Kilman speaks several foreign languages, knows history, is a cultured person, a person who has studied but sees herself as a prisoner of a social status unworthy of her and for this reason she hates Clarissa who did nothing in her opinion, to deserve the position social, husband or daughter.Clarissa senses miss Kilman's feelings for her very well and for this reason tries to keep her at a distance but does not do what any caring and concerned parent would do, that is to distance her from her daughter Elizabeth. Although Kilman tries to mold Elizabeth according to her values, Elizabeth deep inside rejects her and senses her malice. I see in Kilman the spirit of any revolutionary, unhappy with his social situation, frustrated with the existence of the nobility and so envious of the upper classes that he longs to kill these people without a real trial and without just cause. Fortunately for Clarissa and Elizabeth, Mrs. Kilman does not find outpuring in politics but in religion and even if we didn't have the opportunity to find out, this character had all the credentials to become a real fanatic.

I found very interesting the way in which the writer described the imperialist tendencies and the propensity to invasion of the English people through Lady Bruton who had ended up identifying with emigration. This character finds in emigration the only solution to calm the "frustrated youth of our ever-increasing population" as well as a debt that the people owe to their dead and their ancestors. To fulfill this duty, Lady Bruton employs all her resources and involves all her acquaintances and all her friends in drafting letters and plans to display in the chambers.

One character I haven't paid the right attention to is Septimus Warren Smith, a character with a very common surname but a very loud and memorable name. I couldn't help but wonder how much of herself, Virginia Woolf into this character. To fulfill this duty, Lady Bruton employs all her resources and involves all her acquaintances and all her friends in drafting letters and plans to display at the Chambers.

One character I haven't paid the right attention to is Septimus Warren Smith, a character with a very common surname but a very loud and memorable name. I couldn't help but wonder how much Virginia Woolf put herself into this character. Considering that we are now aware of the writer's story, it is obvious that she has reflected in this character all of her demons, her fears and her weaknesses.
